Leave No Trace.

The Niagara Hiking Company is committed to exploring the outdoors sustainably every time we go outside. Following the principles of Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, our hiking groups will:

• Dispose of all waste properly, carrying out anything we carried in

• Leave the area exactly how we found it

• Learn about wildlife through observation without disturbing wildlife or plants

• Be considerate of other hikers enjoying the trails

In addition, the Niagara Hiking Company conducts one clean-up hike of the Niagara Gorge trails and/or the Upper Rim for every ten hikes we lead.

1% for the Planet.

The Niagara Hiking Company will donate 1% of gross sales to the 1% for the Planet network to help invest in organizations driving on-the-ground change within six core issue areas: climate, food, land, pollution, water and wildlife.

You are on Native Land.

If you are in the United States right now, you are on native land. The Niagara Gorge, and its surrounding region, is home to a troubling history of crimes against native tribes. As we celebrate the rich natural beauty of the Niagara River, we recognize the realities of the past and our responsibility to do better than past generations. Our guides will strive to provide accurate historical facts about our region, and we will donate a portion of company profits to Native American Community Services (NACS) of Erie & Niagara Counties, Inc.
